SmartState-SC Centers of Economic Excellence The S.C. SmartState Program was established by the South Carolina General Assembly in 2002, funded through South Carolina Education Lottery proceeds. The legislation authorizes the state’s three public research institutions, Medical University of South Carolina, Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, to use state funds to create Centers of Economic Excellence in research areas that will advance South Carolina’s economy.

South Carolina Research Alliance (SCRA) SCRA takes discoveries out of the lab and off of the bench. SCRA selects them, perfects them, and takes them into production and wide-spread use, achieving typical transition rates of 70-80 percent.

SC Launch Incentives Available for South Carolina – Israel Collaborations All programs and incentives currently available to South Carolina-based universities and companies through the SC Launch program would be available to collaborations between these entities and their Israeli-based colleagues, providing the South Carolina-based partner in the collaboration is eligible for receiving assistance under the SC Launch program.  Read more
